Elon Musk announces the establishment of a new political party

Billionaire Elon Musk, who resigned from his position as an advisor to US President Donald Trump, has announced the establishment of a new political party. He announced the establishment of the ‘America Party’. Musk gave this information through the social media platform X.

Musk did not provide information on whether the ‘America Party’ has been officially registered. The nature of the party and the party’s leadership are also not clear. The US Federal Election Commission has also not provided information about the registration of the new party as of Saturday, according to the BBC.

However, Musk has said that the new party will challenge the US bipartisan political parties, Republicans and Democrats.

Musk was a major supporter of Trump during the 2024 election. He made headlines for donating $250 million to Trump for the election. After Republican Party candidate Trump was elected president, Musk was appointed to the post of head of the government spending reduction agency. Musk later resigned from the position due to internal disputes with Trump. Immediately after resigning, he talked about the possibility of starting a new political party.

On the occasion of America's Independence Day (July 4), Musk posted a poll on his X account. There, he wrote - Do you want freedom from the two-party system? Should we form a new party?

Of the two options given to express their opinion on this question, 65.4 percent voted in favor of forming a new party. 34.6 percent voted against it.
