Why do people think about sex more?

You know, ‘Men think about sex every seven seconds. Is this true? If so, do they think about family, career, studies, etc. in part?

This article attempts to find a way around this question based on some experts and their studies. The conclusion is that, ‘Men can think about sex up to 19 times a day on average.’ Similarly, there is another similar article in Psychology Today. The article says, ‘There is a common understanding that men think about sex more than women. However, what has been found in studies is that the comparative difference between the two is very small. Men think about sex an average of 8 times a day, while women think about it about 6 times. After all, people think about sex at some point throughout the day.

Sigmund Freud, who is known as the father of psychoanalysis, said, ‘Sexual thinking is a natural process. It is also inevitable, because sex is a combination of human biological nature and socio-cultural influences. According to him, sex is not only a physical act but also a mental and emotional process. Sexual thought is a natural expression of a person, which is deeply rooted in the subconscious. It is not strange or unusual for people to have thoughts about sex in their minds.

What is the solution to sexual weakness?

From a biological point of view, sex is a natural need that ensures the continuation of the species. Hormones such as testosterone and estrogen stimulate sexual desire, which in turn generates sexual thoughts in the human brain.

From a psychological point of view, sexual thought is the result of subconscious desires and repressed emotions. According to Freud, society imposes rules and morals to control sexual desires, so that these desires are repressed in the subconscious. These repressed desires are expressed through dreams or creative expressions.

Social and cultural factors also influence sexual thought. In Freud's time, discussing sex was socially taboo, which made it more mysterious and attractive. In today's context, the media, advertising, and pop culture repeatedly generate sexual thoughts in people's minds.

Does it destroy creative capacity and energetic time?

People naturally think about sex. But does thinking about sex in this way destroy a person's energetic time and creative capacity?

Freud's theory answers this question from a complex but creative perspective. For Freud, sexual energy is not just destructive, but rather a creative force in life. Freud believed that artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, William Shakespeare, and Pablo Picasso channeled their sexual energy into art, literature, and innovation.

Freud compared sexual energy to a stream of water. If a stream of water flows in the right direction, it irrigates the fields, but if it gets out of control, it causes floods.

Unhealthy sexual thoughts certainly hinder a person's energy and creative capacity. If a person thinks about sex excessively and suppresses it, it causes him mental problems. Therefore, he cannot focus on creative work or energetic time.

In essence, what can be said is that thinking about sex is not something strange or unnatural. But focusing too much on this alone can destroy your energetic time.
