What is social engineering?

Social engineering is the process of obtaining someone's username, password, OTP, link, or any information by using fear, deception, temptation, or emotional influence. It can take many forms.

If you need to get information about someone's home, you can pretend to be in pain or interrupt someone you don't like, yes, in the digital world, similar methods are used. In public places, people look over your shoulder or from the side at the laptop or mobile you are using, and stealing information in this way is also social engineering. If you sit on the wall and operate the device with your lap in your lap, then others cannot see.

It is better not to do any banking transactions using public WiFi. Someone won five million or one crore or I was looking for a person with this surname in Uganda, you are exactly like that, you are lucky, now do this, do that etc. When we do not fall for such things and we do not believe in such greed, we can largely avoid falling victim to fraud and scams on the internet.

How to create a strong password?

We should also be aware of this. Many people use easily guessable passwords like 'rajan@123'. A person who is a little familiar with technology now has to keep at least 30 passwords on various digital platforms. People tend to remember their name and @123 or Kathmandu 9841. Thus, having passwords that everyone can guess is very risky.

It is said that a long password should be made with numbers, special characters, upper and lower case letters. You can create a pattern to make your password easy to remember. If you keep a long sentence and create a pattern. You will keep this type of password in the bank, this type of password on social media, this type of password for shopping sites, then password management becomes easy. You can change your password every three months.

Just as banks have a vault facility to keep your jewelry safe, there are vaults to keep your internet passwords safe, which are called password managers. These can be used for password management.
