Exports have increased by Rs 100 billion in 11 months of the current fiscal year. According to the Customs Department, goods worth Rs 139.26 billion 23 lakh were exported in the 11 months of the last fiscal year. Goods worth Rs 247.57 billion 2 lakh were exported in the same period of the current fiscal year.
The department has stated that exports have increased by 77.77 percent compared to the previous fiscal year. Goods worth Rs 230 million were exported for the first time in the fiscal year 2078/79. Since then (in 11 months of 2081/82), the department has stated that exports have exceeded Rs 247 billion. The overall export trade has increased due to edible oil. The department's data shows that the share of imports in total foreign trade has decreased as exports increased.
In the 11 months of the last fiscal year, the share of exports in total trade was 8.74 percent and the share of imports was 91.26 percent. While the share of exports has increased in the current fiscal year, the share of imports has decreased. The share of exports in total foreign trade is 13.08 percent and the share of imports is 86.92 percent.
According to the department, diesel, crude soybean oil, petrol, cooking gas and other items have been imported the most. From Shrawan to Jestha of the current fiscal year, diesel alone has been imported worth Rs 115.55 billion.1 million. Crude soybean oil has been imported worth Rs 95.72 billion.61 million, petrol worth Rs 58.58 billion.9 million and cooking gas worth Rs 57.36 billion.77 million.
In the total import trade for the 11 months of the current fiscal year, crude soybean, sunflower and palm oil have a share of 8 percent. The exports include processed soybean oil, sunflower seeds and oil and cardamom. Processed soybean oil has been exported worth Rs 93.51 billion.71 million, sunflower seeds and oil worth Rs 11.33 billion.89 million, cardamom worth Rs 9.78 billion.1 million and cardamom worth Rs 7.19 billion.7 million.
The main reason for the increase in exports is refined soybean oil. It accounts for 37.77 percent of total exports. Along with refined soybean oil, refined sunflower oil is also the reason for the increase in exports.
