Gang rape of 14-year-old girl.

Four youths have been arrested for gangraping a 14-year-old girl from Katari Nagar Palika area of ​​Udaipur. The incident, which took place four days ago, was made public only on Sunday.

The accused are Rajkumar Tamang, a 25-year-old hotel owner of Katari Nagar Palika-4, Gabuwa, as well as Pujan Shrestha, Naveen Shrestha and Jeevan Tamang. All three are around 20 years old. The Katari police station arrested them from different places following a complaint lodged about the incident that took place on Friday night.

The district court extended their judicial custody on Sunday and now the investigation has begun, police said. The girl, who works as a labourer in the market, was raped and has been kept in a 'safe house' in Katari after being rescued.

Officials say her condition is stable. Since her condition is not critical, which is usually expected in a gang rape case, the police said they will confirm after an investigation whether the rape really happened or it is just an allegation.

Bhupesh Tamang, the ward chairman of Katari-4, said he has heard about the incident but does not have full details yet. "I was outside the ward and have just returned," he said. "I have heard about the incident but still need to understand all the facts."
