While the war between Israel and Iran was ongoing, the US dropped bunker buster bombs on Iran's Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear facilities last Saturday. The GBU-57 'bunker-buster' bomb, which is considered effective in destroying underground structures, can penetrate up to 61 meters and explode.
Satellite images released by the US after the attack show six deep craters near two locations at the Fordow site, but it is not clear how much of the interior was destroyed. However, the top US military official, General Dan Kane, said that all three of Iran's nuclear facilities were seriously damaged by the attack.
But Pentagon Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) sources told CNN that Saturday's bombings did not destroy Iran's uranium stockpile. The White House has denied this, calling it an "attempt to humiliate" President Trump. US President Donald Trump has called it "fake news."
