Today Dhaval Shamsher's statement ends

The statement of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) general secretary Dhaval Shamsher Rana, accused of criminal harassment and crime against the state in the Tinkune incident in Kathmandu, has ended. The closed-door hearing continues at the Kathmandu District Court on Monday.

Two people were killed during the royalist demonstration held in Tinkune on March 15. Private houses, including a herbal medicine company in Jadibuti, were set on fire and vandalised, and the Bhatbhateni supermarket was looted. The office of the CPN (Unified Socialist) was also set on fire.

CCTV cameras installed on the road were broken. Police and private vehicles were also damaged. Rana was arrested by the police on the same day after the incident.

A few days after his arrest, he was released by the District Court on health grounds. He paid a fine of Rs 50,000 through his lawyer for not appearing before the police after the case was registered.

Rana appeared in court on Monday after the hearing of the remaining defendants was completed. According to Rana's associate, so far three lawyers have argued on his behalf. The arguments of three, including senior advocate Bhimarjun Acharya, have been completed. The arguments of government lawyers are continuing. Finally, two more lawyers are preparing to argue on behalf of Rana.
